Wait, then wipe
Give it ten seconds before you touch anything. The flakes are pretty enough but the frost is the point, and it takes a while to thicken. Once the screen has gone properly white, hold the mouse down and drag.
You get a smeared window, not a clean one. Short strokes leave streaks, long ones clear more than you meant to, and the snow keeps falling into whatever gap you made.
It settles on things
Snow piles along the bottom in drifts, and it also collects on the top edge of anything sitting on the page. The search box grows a little white cap. So does the results panel. Sweep the drifts and it starts again from bare ground.

Google snow, google snowfall, snow google trick, and every mangled version of the phrase people half remember, all still get typed in around the same week each year.
There is no matching rain trick, though plenty of people go looking for one. If you want a different kind of weather, the google fan moves air across the same kind of page.
What else settles on the page?
Nothing quite like it. The closest is the dust in thanos snap, which takes things away instead of piling them up.
Does scraping change the page underneath?
No. The frost is its own layer. Wiping it only changes what you can see through.
Why does the drift number keep moving?
It tracks the deepest point, and drifts spread sideways as they build, so the peak wanders.
